School is back in session, temperatures are starting to mellow out, and decorating for fall is right around the corner! Before you break out the fall decorations, you may want to consider deep cleaning your home and we’ve put together a list of things you may want to consider cleaning now that summer is officially on it’s way out!
Windows
While cleaning the insides of your windows is likely on your routine cleaning list, the exteriors of your windows may not be. Our region experienced some powerful storms this summer, and with that comes wind and rain. Now that we’re (almost) through the heat of the summer and hopefully most of the severe weather, it might be a great time to clean the outsides of your windows.
Baseboards and Door Jams
Summer is a busy time with vacations, summer activities, and then preparing for back to school! While quickly cleaning your floors during your routine cleanings, you may have overlooked your baseboards and door jams. Now is a great time to wipe your baseboards and door jams, and will save you the heavy elbow grease in doing so ahead of the holiday season.
Light Fixtures
Now is a great time to wipe your ceiling fans and light fixtures, particularly those in heavy traffic areas or those that are out of reach most of the time. Some of the globes of your light fixtures may even come off for easy cleaning!
Kitchen Cabinets
Kitchen cabinets can get pretty greasy from cooking, and then often collect dust. Now is a great time to wipe down your kitchen cabinets. A great way to cut through the grease is to use a kitchen degreaser, like Dawn dish soap, to clean them. It’s gentle on the surface but cuts through the grime!
