Summer is here in Southern Maryland, and it’s been a dry one, so far! You may have a list of a few outside projects you’ve been considering tackling in the warmer months, and we’ve compiled a list of some of the best ones to tackle now while the weather is ideal.
Painting and Staining Trim and Decks
Have some areas on the outside of your home that could use a fresh coat of paint, or have a deck or porch that is in need of a stain or sealant? Now is a great time to tackle those projects! Ideal conditions for painting and staining are dry, low humidity days, and we’ve seen several of those over the last few weeks! This type of weather is ideal because it gives your paint or stain the perfect opportunity to dry quickly!
Update Siding and Roofing
Whether you’re looking for a cosmetic upgrade on your siding, or your roof sprouted a leak over the winter and needs replaced, the summer months are a great time to tackle both of those projects, especially while the weather is on the mild side.
Replace Windows and Doors
Although extreme hot conditions don’t make for the best time to replace windows and doors, we’ve also experienced some relatively mild temperatures here in Southern Maryland over the last couple of months, and that type of weather is perfect to replace your doors and windows without allowing too much warm air into your home!
Replace Your HVAC System
In need of a new HVAC system? A great time to replace your system is during mild and how humidity temperatures, since you’ll have to be without air conditioning until your system is complete.
Revamp Your Landscaping
Looking for more of a low-cost option to give your home’s exterior the cosmetic boost you’re craving? A simple trim of your bushes and planting new shrubs and plants, spreading mulch, and cleaning up your outdoor flower beds is a great way to give your home a refreshed look! The milder temperatures that June brings make conditions perfect to clean up your garden areas.
