Guadagnoli Companies & Rainbow Construction

Today, Guadagnoli Companies includes Rainbow Construction Corporation of Waldorf as well as Rainbow Commercial Construction and Guadagnoli Properties. The originating company, Rainbow Construction, was started in Massachusetts in 1961 by president and owner, Domenic Guadagnoli. He remains the business’s visionary today while several of his family have joined the company; his daughter and son-in-law, Rossana Gandee and Donnie Gandee, and son, Mark Guadagnoli, now handle operations.

In the early years, Domenic worked as a masonry contractor, primarily building brick fronts and fireplaces for area builders, later broadening the scope of his work to include all aspects of cast-in-place concrete. In 1963 he began building residential homes.

In 1975 Rainbow Construction relocated to the Southern Maryland area, where it quickly became highly reputable and well established, providing masonry and cast-in-place concrete services to area builders. American Community Properties Trust (ACPT), formerly known as Interstate General Corporation (IGC), Pulte Homes, and Campanelli Homes are a few of the builders for whom we have provided services.

Further broadening its business plan, in 1987 Rainbow Construction expanded its offerings to include building residential homes. Since that time, we have built over 700 homes. Our reputation for building quality products and providing excellent service to our customers has been widely recognized by both our customers and our peers. In fact, we are a recipient of the Southern Maryland Building Industry Builder of the Year Award, Parade of Homes Award and the prestigious Finest for Family Living Award. These awards exemplify our high standards for quality, service, and architectural style.

In 1997, Rainbow Construction Corporation further expanded its services to include general contracting. Since that time, we have completed and are in the process of completing $70,000,000 in projects for state and local governments and private owners. From design through construction, the company’s craftsmen provide all key building trades from architectural drafting to cast-in-place concrete, metal fabrication and final site development. Serving as general contractor, projects ranging from 13,000 square feet to 48,000 square feet include the Charles County Sheriff’s Property Management Facility, the Holly Center, Allstate Flex Warehouse, Avante Garde, the Williams Scotsman Complex in Waldorf, work at Andrews Air Force Base and the Peace Lutheran Church in Waldorf.

We also develop and build residential homes in various subdivisions in Charles County. While we assess the merits of new projects on a daily basis, we are pleased to be completing or have completed the following communities: Country Pines, Heritage Crossing Phase I, Heritage Crossing Phase II, Plantation at Carrico Knolls, Sun Valley Estates, St. John’s Wood, Rodgers Estate, and Windsor Mill.

Increasingly, we field inquiry regarding building semi- and completely custom homes for private lot owners. Answering this demand is for us like going back to our roots. We are pleased to work closely with individuals and families to build houses that are limited only by the imagination of the owners.

In 2004, Rainbow Construction Corporation took on the task of redefining its company profile to reflect its increasing presence in the expanding building and real estate marketplace of Waldorf, Charles County, and Southern Maryland. This undertaking has resulted in several changes. With a burgeoning office staff, the company moved to brand new quarters at 65 Industrial Park Drive in Waldorf. The company also added to its formal identity by establishing Guadagnoli Companies which includes Rainbow Construction, Rainbow Commercial Construction and Guadagnoli Properties.

Today, Guadagnoli remains dedicated to the best possible customer experience available in Maryland’s commercial and residential building and real estate markets. With more than 53 years of experience, this family-held firm remains independent, allowing it to excel in pride and quality work and unsurpassed customer relations and service.
