How to Prepare Early for an Easy Thanksgiving Holiday

November is officially here, and Thanksgiving and the holiday season will be here before we know it! If you’re planning on hosting friends and family this Thanksgiving, now is a great time to start preparing to make the holiday easy, relaxing, and most importantly, stress-free! If you’re ready to start planning, but aren’t quite sure where to start, we’ve compiled a few ways to help you navigate the holiday season and kick-start it on the right foot!

Plan Your Menu Early
Whether you’re hosting an entire dinner, or, are planning a potluck-style celebration, planning your menu ahead of time will save you (and anyone contributing to your meal) a headache later on! Decide now what is on the menu for Thanksgiving day. If you’re celebrating with a potluck-style meal, decide now on what everyone will contribute, to give plenty of time to gather ingredients.

Purchase Non-Perishable Items Now
Many grocery stores are starting to run specials on holiday ingredients. Start your shopping early and purchase any non perishable items you may need. This will save you from potentially encountering a shortage of a certain ingredient as we get closer to the holiday!

Purchase Perishable Items and Store in Your Freezer
If you have a large freezer, now is a great time to purchase your turkey or ham and stash it in the freezer to prepare early for the holiday. Purchasing your entree of choice early will give you a better variety to choose from!

Unpack Your Holiday Decor, Cookware, and Dining Set Now
While you may already have your fall decorations proudly on display, now is a great time to start pulling out your holiday cookware, plates, bowls, and serving dishes to prepare for the holiday. Starting early will help you keep an accurate inventory of everything you have and may need to acquire more of depending on how many guests you are anticipating.
