Set Up Schoolwork Dedicated Spaces
Take some time to designate space in your home for your students to complete their homework. A place that is free of distractions, and away from the common areas of your home to limit noise. The space should be equipped with everything your child will need to complete their homework including a computer (if necessary), pencils, paper, calculators, and any other school supplies necessary.
Re-Organize Your Pantry with After School Snacks
If you’re typically not home when your students return from school, dedicate a couple of shelves that your students can reach easily in your pantry or refrigerator dedicated to healthy snacks and beverages that they can grab when they return home from school.
Clean Out Dressers and Closets
Take some time to remove clothes that no longer fit your child from their dressers and closets, and replace them ahead of the school year with new school clothes, and season-appropriate apparel.
Take Time To Clear Out Your Car
Take a few moments to clear out any unnecessary items that may have been left in your vehicle over the summer and replace the items with school necessities. By removing unnecessary items, you’ll feel like you’re starting the school year with a fresh vehicle, and you can replace those items with school year necessities.
Dedicate a Space for Backpacks, Coats, and Shoes
The last thing you want to deal with early in the morning before school is trying to get out the door in a hurry and looking all over the house for a missing shoe, backpack or jacket. If you have the space in your home, create. dedicated space to hang jackets, backpacks and store shoes so that everything is in one place and ready to go for the next day.
