How to Prepare Your Lawn and for Autumn

School is starting and it is almost Labor Day, which also means the unofficial start of autumn! While we may still encounter a few hot days, cooler weather is approaching. Ready to start getting your lawn prepared for the cooler weather? We have a few tips that will help keep your lawn looking fabulous, even during the cooler months!

Clear Debris and Fallen Leaves
We’ve had some brutal summer storms, especially over the last couple of months! Take some time to clear the fallen debris, sticks, limbs, and fallen leaves, to give your grass some room to breathe!

Aerate Your Lawn and Apply Fertilizer
Wanting to try to ensure your grass survives the cold weather? Take the time now to aerate your lawn, fertilize, and even plant new grass seed to give your lawn the nutrients it needs to thrive this winter, and to give new grass a chance to grow without being burnt up by the hot summer sun.

Trim Your Lawn on a Shorter Setting
Now that you don’t have to worry about the sun burning up your short grass, take the opportunity to cut your grass on a lower setting and remove the clippings to keep your lawn from molding underneath.

Prevent Overwatering
While it’s important to continue watering your lawn, you may need to refrain from watering your lawn as frequently, as growing season will be slowing and we’ll likely experience more rain in the autumn months.
